“Clarence Darrow” by David W. Rintel is a pet project of mine. I’ve wanted to do a one-man play for a while and his play strangely spoke to me as a reminder of the times we are now living in. The clarity of our lives in America in 2018 comes into focus through the thoughts, beliefs and actions of Clarence Darrow in David Rintels’s play.  Even though citizens rights, freedoms and liberties were challenged and restrained in the early days of the 20th Century, democracy’s strength prevailed.  Perhaps history will repeat itself. This past September with the help of my dear friend and director, Michael Geneive, we produced, and he directed, a production of “Clarence Darrow” at the Abbeville Opera House, the state theatre of South Carolina.  It was a great opportunity to get the project on its feet and prepare for future productions of “Clarence Darrow” in 2019 and beyond.
